Our Story

From one graduating class to a nationwide vision.

The 97/98 Dove Charity Organization was founded in 2019 by members of the Dove Class of 1997/1998 of the Seventh Day Adventist High School on Camp Johnson Road, Monrovia, Liberia. What began as a heartfelt effort to give back to the school that shaped their lives soon grew into a broader vision of giving back to Liberia as a whole.

Rooted in gratitude, unity, and service, the organization continues to honor its origins while expanding its reach to communities across the country.

Our Mission

Empowering the Next Generation of Liberians

Our mission is to empower the next generation of Liberians by expanding access to education, providing vocational training, and building healthier communities β€” including efforts to stop drug use among children and to promote safe, supportive environments for youth.

What We Do

Programs that create real, lasting change.

We address Liberia’s most pressing youth development challenges through programs that open doors and change lives:

Scholarships β€” Supporting students who lack financial resources but show strong academic potential.

Career Training & Development β€” Providing vocational skills and career pathways that prepare young people for meaningful employment.

Community Health & Safety β€” Working to reduce drug use among children through awareness, mentorship, and community engagement.

Safe Drinking Water & Healthcare Access β€” Partnering with community leaders to build wells for safe drinking water and to support the development of local healthcare centers.

Our Impact

A modern library for the school where it all began.

Since our establishment in 2019, the 97/98 Dove Charity Organization has made significant contributions to education and community development in Liberia. One of our proudest achievements is the renovation, restocking, and full furnishing of a modern library in 2024 at the very high school where our founding members earned their high-school diplomas.

This library now serves as a hub of learning, inspiration, and opportunity for hundreds of students β€” a living symbol of what community-driven service can accomplish.
